Dr. William Charles Welch, M.D., F.A.C.S., F.I.C.S., F.A.A.N.S. is a neurological surgery expert from Pennsylvania. He has an active medical practitioner’s license from the state of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and is certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He completed his B.S. in 1983 from the City College of New York and then earned his Doctor of Medicine in 1985 from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Centre. He then pursued his internship in General Surgery in 1986 and a residency in Neurological Surgery in 1991 from the University of Rochester-Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, New York. He further pursued his fellowship in Neuro-oncology in 1992 and Spinal Surgery in 1993 from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Weiler Hospital, Bronx, New York. He served in the United States Naval Reserve for the years 1989 to 1993 as Lieutenant Commander. Currently, Dr. Welch is a neurosurgeon at UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, Pennsylvania Hospital, Hospitals of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian and Penn Presbyterian Medical Centre. He has several publications to his credit. He is also a Fellow of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons since 2012, American College of Surgeons and International College of Surgeon.
