He has worked in the towing industry for more than 50 years and has been involved with Sullivan & Sons, Inc., a family business that has operated for more than 67 years.

Mr. Sullivan began working in the towing and recovery business at age six and became a licensed driver at 16, when he began driving tow trucks for the family business. He became manager of the business at age 17 in 1976 and owner/operator in 1984. He obtained a commercial driver’s license in 1986 and has been a licensed Maryland State Inspector since 1976.

His experience includes light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing and vehicle recovery. Sullivan & Sons, Inc. has provided towing services for the Maryland State Police since 1963 and the Baltimore County Police Department since 1965. The company also participates in 911 heavy-rescue dispatch and works with multiple Maryland police and transportation jurisdictions.

Mr. Sullivan has completed heavy-duty towing and recovery training and has participated in recovery instruction, fire department mock-rescue training, Traffic Incident Management, and highway safety initiatives. He served two terms as President of the Towing & Recovery Professionals of Maryland and currently serves as its Past President and as a member of the Harford County Towing Appeals Board.
