Dr. Thomas Martin Hemmen, M.D. is a neurology expert witness from California. He also has expertise in vascular neurology. He has an active medical practitioner’s license from the state of California and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Hemmen earned his M.D. in 1994 from the Freie Universität Berlin at Berlin, Germany and then served as the Arzt im Praktikum also from the Freie Universität Berlin. He then completed his internship from the New York University School of Medicine and subsequently completed his residency from the New York-Presbyterian Hospital. He also completed his fellowship in Stroke Neurology from the University of California San Diego. He further completed his second fellowship in Neurological Intensive Care from the Philipp University of Marburg at Maburg, Hessen in Germany. Currently, Dr. Hemmen is the Professor of the Department of Neurosciences at the University of California, San Diego. He is also the Director of Stroke Center and a vascular neurologist at the University of California, San Diego Health.
