Dr. Thomas Gordon Gutheil M.D. is a psychiatry expert witness from Massachusetts. His clinical expertise includes general psychiatry and forensic psychiatry. He has an active medical license from the state of Massachusetts and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Forensic Psychiatry. He completed his B.A. Cum Laude in the year 1963 from Harvard College and then earned his M.D. in the year 1967 from the Harvard Medical School. He then completed his internship from Albert Einstein College of Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center and residency in Psychiatry from the Massachusetts Mental Health Center. He also served as the Chief Resident at the Massachusetts Mental Health Center from 1970 to 1971. He further completed a clinical fellowship in Psychiatry from the Harvard Medical School. Currently, Dr. Gutheil is Professor of Psychiatry in the Department of Psychiatry at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. He is also an Assistant Director of Medical Student Training and Co-Founder of the Program in Psychiatry and the Law at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School. He is a past president of the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law and current president of the International Academy of Law and Mental Health. He has numerous publications to his credit.
