He earned his M.D. in 1999 from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and his internship from University of Miami - Jackson Memorial Hospital. Then he completed his residency and his fellowship from Doheny Eye Institute-University of Southern California. He also completed his second fellowship from Baylor College of Medicine.
Currently, Dr. Albini is the Co-Director of Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowship and Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Miami. Prior to this, he was the Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at University of Miami and Fellow in Vitreoretinal Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
