He has served as a faculty member at Ferris State University’s School of Criminal Justice since 2009, progressing from Satellite Instructor to full-time lecturer, and currently teaches at the university’s Big Rapids campus. Dr. Amey also held adjunct instructor roles at St. Clair County Community College and contributed to shaping criminal justice education in the region.

In addition to his academic roles, Dr. Amey has a distinguished career in law enforcement. He served in various capacities with the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office, including Detective, Deputy Sheriff, and Drug Task Force Narcotics Investigator. His practical experience in criminal justice, combined with his academic expertise, provides a well-rounded perspective in his field.
