Stephen Edward Strup

Stephen Edward Strup, M.D., F.A.C.S. is an Urologist in Lexington, Kentucky. His sub-specialty includes Urology Physicians, Surgeons and Oncology Physicians. He is board certified Urologist from American Board of Urologist. He completed his BA in Zoology from Summa Cum Laude, DePauw University, Greencastle, Indiana from 1980 to 1984. Dr. Strup earned his Medical degree from the University of Indiana. He completed a residency in Urology at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. Then, he completed a urologic oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda Maryland. He is certified by the American Board of Urology and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. In Thomas Jefferson University where he was one of the early adopters of the hand-assisted laparoscopic nephrectomy and laparoscopic radical prostatectomy techniques. In 2003, he moved to the University of Kentucky where he was appointed the Director of Minimally Invasive Urologic Surgery and Residency Program Director. His clinical interests include urologic oncology, minimally invasive and robotic surgery, and living donor nephrectomy. He had license in Pennsylvania from 1990 to 2004. He had license in Maryland from 1995 to 1997. From 2001 to 2003, he had license in New Jersey. At present, he has license in Kentucky since 2003.
