Sandra Anne Craig, M.D., F.A.C.E.P. is a board certified emergency physician and serves as the emergency medicine residency program director at Carolinas Medical Center Charlotte, North Carolina. She has over 33 years of experience in the medical field. She completed her B.S. at College of William & Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia from 1979 to 1983. She attended medical school at the Medical College of Virginia from 1983 to 1987. She completed her Internship at the Carolinas Medical Center in 1988. Then, she completed her training in emergency medicine at Carolinas Medical Center 1987 to July 1990. She joined the CMC Emergency Medicine faculty in 1990 and served as the associate residency director and director of the resident conference curriculum from 1991 until June 1999. In July of 2010, she engaged to residency leadership, the role of Residency Program Director. She is a member of the federal Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and a staff emergency physician for Carolinas Medical Center's mobile disaster response vehicle, Carolinas MED-1. She has been a faculty participant and judge at the annual SAEM CPC competition, a lecturer for the American College of Emergency Physicians Scientific Assembly since 1993, and has served on the Board of the Council of Residency Directors (CORD). Current areas of interest include electrocardiography (especially tachydysrhythmias), dysnatremias, renal stone disease and appendicitis. She currently practices at Carolinas Medical Center. She is affiliated with Atrium Health's Carolinas Medical Center since 1990.
