Dr. Ryan O’Connor, M.D., is an emergency medicine physician and forensic medical expert witness with clinical, academic, and forensic experience. Since 2008, he has served as a forensic medical expert witness and consultant and has been included on the Los Angeles County Superior Court List of Approved Expert Witnesses. He has practiced as an attending physician in emergency medicine at multiple hospitals, including Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, Good Samaritan Hospital, San Mateo County Medical Center, Washington Hospital Medical Center, St. John’s Medical Center, Centinela Freeman Medical Center, Century City Doctors Hospital, and Beth Israel Medical Center.

Dr. O’Connor earned a Doctor of Medicine from New York Medical College in 2002, completed a residency in Emergency Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center in 2005, and later received a Master of Science in Criminalistics from California State University, Los Angeles, in 2021. His graduate studies included coursework in forensic pathology, toxicology, crime scene reconstruction, firearms examination, forensic anthropology, and courtroom issues in criminalistics.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. O’Connor has served as an adjunct instructor of emergency medicine, a volunteer consultant to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner–Coroner, and a pro bono consultant for innocence organizations. He has also presented lectures on soft tissue injuries and related forensic medical topics to legal and law enforcement audiences.
