His work includes the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular conditions as well as the education and training of medical students and physicians.

Previously, Dr. Wharton served as Director of Cardiovascular Services for the Montefiore Hutchinson Campus at Montefiore Health System, where he oversaw cardiovascular clinical services and related healthcare operations. His professional background includes experience in patient care, cardiovascular medicine, healthcare administration, and academic medicine.
