He holds a B.S. in Economics from Western Illinois University and maintains appraisal licenses in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana. Mr. DeVries is a former Vice President of Appraisal Research Counselors and Assistant Manager at Norwest Financial Inc. He has contributed to course development and publications for the Appraisal Institute and frequently teaches appraisal courses and speaks at industry events.

His professional affiliations include the Appraisal Institute, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, and the Chicagoland Apartment Association.
