He was a Lieutenant Commander for United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps at National Institutes of Health at Bethesda, Maryland from 1976 to 1979. He has also given deposition and trial testimony in more than 125 cases and has served as senior member of his state’s Medical Malpractice Claims Review Panel. He is past-president of the Connecticut Society of Internal Medicine and Director of his hospital’s Cardiovascular Prevention Program. Currently, Dr. Stark is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Medicine in New York Medical College at Valhalla, New York and also an attending physician in Greenwich Hospital at Greenwich, Connecticut.
