Dr. Robert A. Peterson, Ph.D., is a distinguished academic in the field of marketing with a long and esteemed career at the University of Texas at Austin. He completed his Bachelor of Science in 1966, Master of Science in 1968, and Ph.D. in 1970, all from the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Peterson has held numerous prestigious positions at the University of Texas at Austin. He is currently a Charles E. Hurwitz Centennial Fellow and has served as the John T. Stuart III Centennial Chair in Business Administration. His administrative roles include Associate Dean for Research, Director of the Bureau of Business Research, and Associate Vice President for Research. Additionally, he was the Director of the IC2 Institute and held interim leadership positions, including Interim Director of the Office of Technology Commercialization. Dr. Peterson began his academic career as a Research Assistant at the Center for Experimental Studies in Business at the University of Minnesota and later as an Instructor in the Marketing Department. He joined the University of Texas at Austin as an Assistant Professor of Marketing. He also served as Senior Research Fellow at the IC2 Institute and as Sam Barshop Professor of Marketing.
