Dr. Robert L. Barkin, Pharm.D., M.B.A., N.H.A., F.C.P., D.A.A.P.M., D.A.C.F.E. is a health care professional based in Deerfield, Illinois. He completed his Bachelors in Pharmacy at University of Illinois, Chicago in 1961. He received his N.H.A. from George Washington University. He went on to pursue Masters of Business Administration DePaul University and earned the degree in 1978. He earned his Pharm.D. from Purdue University in 1985. He is currently the Associate Professor Pharmacology and Present Consultant to United States Justice Department. Dr. Barkin is the Professor of Anesthesiology, Pharmacology, and Family Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. He is the Trustee Executive Council, Dangerous Drugs Administration State of Illinois; Health Service Agency (HAS) at Lake County Board of Health. He serves in the Lake County Advisory Board of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Disabilities Services. He is a Consultant to the Illinois Department of Alcohol and Substance Abuse (DASA) State of Illinois, a consultant and member of Crescent County Medical Foundation and a Medical Review Officer Consultant to the Chicago Police Department and City of Chicago Corporation Counsel. He is also a clinical pharmacologist in a collaborative practice with five physician pain specialists at the NorthShore University Health System Department of Anesthesiology Pain Center’s of Skokie and Evanston Hospitals in Illinois. Dr. Barkin is the author of more than 150 abstracts, CD-Rom programs, textbook chapters, and peer reviewed articles. He is the Associate Editor for the American Journal of Therapeutics. Dr. Barkin is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management, a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, Diplomate of American Board of Forensic Medicine, Examiners, Psychologic Specialties in Psychopharmacology. He is also the recipient of Who's Who in America: Who's Who in Medicine and Healthcare (2002-2006) and an Honorary Member of the Philippine Pain Society, A Chapter of the International Association for the Study of Pain Manila Philippines (At the Hotel Intercontinental December 1993).
