Richard M. Hough

Dr. Richard M. Hough Sr., Ed.D., C.P.P., C.C.H.P., S.H.R.M.-S.C.P., is a highly esteemed expert in criminal justice and public administration with extensive academic and professional experience. He earned his Doctor of Education in Public Administration from the University of West Florida in 2009. He also holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government in 1991, and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration, cum laude, from Saint Leo University.

Currently, Dr. Hough is a professor of practice in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at East Tennessee State University and was a professor in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice and the Department of Administration and Law at the University of West Florida. He has also held adjunct positions at institutions such as the University of Maryland Global Campus, George Stone Technical College, and Colorado Technical University Online. Dr. Hough has served in multiple capacities, including Senior Management Analyst at the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Enforcement Bureau Administrator at the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office, and Deputy Chief at the Manatee County Sheriff's Office. Early in his career, he worked with the Longboat Key Police Department as a Department Training Officer and Senior Patrol Officer, as well as with the Bradenton Beach Police Department as a Patrol Officer and Motor Officer.
