He completed a rotating internship in internal medicine and a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Pain Medicine and holds additional certifications as a Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice, Certified Evaluator of Disability and Impairment Ratings, and Certified Life Care Planner.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Bowman has authored and co-authored peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and clinical guidelines on interventional pain management, spinal cord stimulation, chronic pain treatment, and life care planning. He has also served in leadership roles with professional organizations related to pain medicine and rehabilitation.
