Dr. Renu Virmani is an internationally renowned cardiovascular pathologist. She is recognized as a leading researcher in the field of cardiovascular disease treatments. She is founder, President and Medical Director, CVPath Institute. Clinical Professor, Department of Pathology at Georgetown University, University of Maryland-Baltimore, George Washington University and Vanderbilt University and Former Chairperson, Department of Cardiovascular Pathology, Armed Forces Institute of Pathology. Currently Dr. Virmani serves as the President of CVPath Institute, which she founded in 2005. She completed her school form Delhi Public School, New Delhi, India in (1958-1961) & completed her Pre Medical degree from Hindu College, Delhi University, New Delhi, India (1961-1962). After that she completed her M.B.B.S. from Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi University, New Delhi, India (1962-1967) and then M.D. from Lady Hardinge Medical College, Delhi University, New Delhi, India (1971-1973). She got Medical Licensure from Educational Foundation for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) in 1974 & Federal Licensure Examination (FLEX) in 1975. She also holds Licensed to Practice Medicine in West Virginia (1975), Maryland (current) (1976), District of Columbia (1977), Tennessee (current) (1981). Dr. Virmani got Board Certification from American Board of Anatomic Pathology in 1978. She got several awards some are TCT Career Achievement Award, CADECI 2015, Guadalajara, Jalisco (Mexico), February 11-12, 2015, Beacon of Interventional Cardiology Award from India Live 2015, Chennai, India, February 26-27, 2015, Houston Methodist Leading Medicine Award from Houston Methodist Research Institute, October 9-10, 2014, ICI 2013 Award (Innovations in Cardiovascular Interventions Award), Tel Aviv, Israel, December, 2013, TCT Career Achievement Award from the Cardiovascular Research Foundation.
