Reni S. Butler, MD, is a radiologist in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging who works with patients at the Breast Center. She specializes in breast imaging, reading 3D mammograms, breast ultrasounds and breast MRIs. She is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology. She also performs core needle biopsies, a procedure that determines if a tumor is benign or cancerous. She graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago in 1991. She is specialized in Diagnostic Radiology. Her areas of research interest include digital breast tomosynthesis and screening ultrasound. At present she is serving as Assistant Professor of Radiology at Yale Diagnostic Radiology. She is affiliated with Smilow Cancer Hospital, Yale Medicine. She is actively involved in teaching at Yale and within the radiology community at large. After completing a medical education fellowship at the Yale School of Medicine, she founded and directed the Yale Undergraduate Shadowing Program at the Smilow Breast Center, providing pre-medical students with early exposure to the multiple disciplines involved in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
