He earned his medical degree in 1965 from New York University College of Medicine. He has completed his residency in Neurological Surgery in University of California San Francisco from 1966 to 1971. He joined the IND faculty in 2016. Following a distinguished clinical, research, and teaching career in neurosurgery, mostly at University of California San Francisco. He has practicing medical license in California since 1966 and his license will expire in 2021.
