Dr. Peter Joseph Smith, M.D., M.A. is a pediatrics expert witness from Illinois. His expertise also includes developmental pediatrics, behavioral pediatrics and neurodevelopmental disabilities. Dr. Smith completed B.A. with honors in Theology and Pre-medicine in the year 1990 from University of Notre Dame and then completed his Post-graduate Studies in Theology in 1991 from University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He subsequently earned his M.D. in 1995 from the Duke University School of Medicine located at Durham, North Carolina and then completed his M.A. in Theology (Medical Ethics) from the Boston College at Boston, Massachusetts in 2002. He then completed his internship and residency in General Pediatrics from the St. Louis Children's Hospital at St. Louis, Missouri. He also completed his first fellowship in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and his second fellowship in Dyson Advocacy from the Children's Hospital at Boston, Massachusetts. Currently, Dr. Smith is the Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and the Associate at the MacLean Center for Clinical Medical Ethics of the University of Chicago. He is also the Program Director of the Fellowship in Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics at the Department of Pediatrics, University of Chicago.
