He has received the Ira and Marie Trachtman Research Award from the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America in 1989 and 1990 and the Founders' Day Award from New York University in 1980. He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society in 1980. He is associated with American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association and Palm Beach Medical Society. He has been the Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science at FAU Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine since 2013.
