Peter Davis Layson

Peter Davis Layson, B.S. is an expert based in Atlantic Beach, Florida. He did his Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics with an emphasis in Electrical Systems from Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, FL in the year 1997. He was a Minor in Mathematics at Jacksonville University, Jacksonville, FL in 1997. He is also trained in Vehicle Fire Investigation from Florida Chapter International Association of Arson Investigators, Tallahassee, FL and in Traffic Accident Reconstruction from Institute of Police Technologies and Management, University of North Florida. He also learned Forensic Photography at Evidence Photographers International Council, Atlanta, GA, in 1998. He is a certified Marine Electrical Technician and Fire and Explosion Investigator, Vehicle Fire Investigator. He is affiliated with Applications Engineering Group, Inc. and AEGI Applications Engineering group. His expertise include Electrical appliance and component failure analysis, causation and contributing factor determination in electrical appliance and component failures, Vehicular Accident Reconstruction including occupant kinematics; evidence documentation; specialized evidence photography, motion and impact analysis, line of sight issues, light bulb analysis and vehicular crash testing. He is a member of American Boat and Yacht Council, Evidence Photographers International Council, Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention (FACAP), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), Florida Chapter International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI), Florida Chapter International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI) and International Association of Marine Investigators (IAMI). He was the past director Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention, Northeast Director of Florida Chapter International Association of Arson Investigators from 2008 to 2013 and became the President in 2017.
