Dr. Peter Joseph Favaro, Ph.D., is a distinguished forensic psychology expert and licensed psychologist with over 40 years of experience. He earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Hofstra University in 1983, following his M.A. in Psychology and B.A. in Liberal Arts (Psychology/Biology) from the same institution. Dr. Favaro has been licensed as a psychologist in New York State since 1985 and is also a certified mediator.
Dr. Favaro has a long-standing private practice, specializing in the diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of children and adolescents. Since 1991, he has worked as a forensic psychology expert and custody evaluator. He has also contributed his expertise as a psychotherapist in academic settings, including Hofstra University’s Psychological Evaluation Research Center and a clinical internship at the State University of New York at Farmingdale.Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Favaro has been an influential consultant, advising organizations such as Kloster Cruises Ltd., SkiWee Ski School, and the Professional Ski Instructors Association. He is also the founder and former Executive Director of the Discovery Enrichment Program, Inc. Additionally, Dr. Favaro served as a mental health liaison at Blisstribution in Brooklyn, where he facilitated employee access to psychological services and provided in-service training on customer service and public relations.
