During his postdoctoral training, he completed his internship from US Public Health Service Hospital, residency in general surgery and urology from the University of California, San Francisco. He further completed his fellowship in radiology from the University of California, San Francisco and transplantation & renovascular surgery from The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Currently, he is the founder & president at Marin Medical society and an associate professor of surgery/ urology and Chief Northern California Renal Transplant Program at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He has numerous publications to his credit. He can speak Spanish and Filipino in addition to English.
