Her work experience includes public and private rehabilitation employment settings, including the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation and various independent private sector medical and vocational case management companies. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and Certified Case Manager (CCM). She also holds two certifications in life care planning (CLCP & CNLCP). Her private practice primarily involves forensic rehabilitation, including life care planning, and vocational rehabilitation assessment. She was named 2015 Outstanding Life Care Planning Educator by the Foundation for Life Care Planning Research. She served as national president of the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) and the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC). She was the national chair for the International Academy of Life Care Planners (IALCP) and the American Legal Nurse Consultant Certification Board (ALNCCB).
