Dr. Scurich currently holds dual roles as a Professor in both the Department of Psychological Science and the Department of Criminology, Law & Society at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine). He has held a variety of leadership positions, including Vice Chair of the Department of Psychological Science from 2019 to 2022 and Chair since 2023. Dr. Scurich is also a Professor by courtesy at UC Irvine's School of Law and has been a Visiting Research Professor at both UC Hastings College of Law and USC Gould School of Law. His academic work focuses on legal decision-making, reasonable doubt, and forensic psychology, and he has earned recognition for his contributions to the understanding of how psychological principles intersect with legal processes.
