Nicholas Scott Abend

Dr. Nicholas Scott Abend M.D., M.S.C.E. is a pediatric neurologist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has expertise in child neurology, pediatric epilepsy, video EEG monitoring, management of seizures in critically ill children and neonates, and management of status epilepticus. He has an active medical license from the state of Pennsylvania and is certified in Neurology with special qualification in child neurology and epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He graduated from University of Washington in BS with honors in the year 1998. He completed his medical degree from the University of Chicago School of Medicine in 2002. He then pursued MSCE in Clinical Epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2015. During his post-graduate training, he completed his pediatrics internship and residency from the University of Chicago Children's Hospital. He then pursued child neurology fellowship from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania. He received the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Certificate from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He also pursued epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology fellowship from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has numerous publications to his credit. Currently he is an Associate Professor of Neurology and maintains his practice as a Medical Director of the Neurophysiology Lab at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
