Dr. Minal Giri, M.D., F.A.A.P., is a dedicated pediatrician and human rights advocate. She earned her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine in 1999, following a B.A. and M.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Chicago. Dr. Giri completed her Pediatrics Residency at Lutheran General Children's Hospital in 2002 and an Internship at Children's Hospital Los Angeles in 2000. She further pursued specialized training through the Harvard Program on Refugee Trauma in 2020. She also holds an active Illinois State Medical License valid until 2026 and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

Currently, Dr. Giri serves as the Co-Founder of the Midwest Human Rights Consortium and Chair of the Refugee Immigrant Child Health Initiative (RICHI), roles she has held since 2018 and 2017, respectively. She is also a Leadership Council Member and Medical Forensic Volunteer at Heartland Alliance and an Asylum Network Member with Physicians for Human Rights, contributing since 2012 and 2002. Additionally, she was the Medical Director of Melrose Park Pediatrics and an Assistant Professor at Rush University Medical Center.
