He holds an M.D. and Ph.D. from Emory University and an A.B. in Biochemical Engineering and Public Health from Dartmouth College. He completed postdoctoral training in infectious disease mathematics at Princeton University and in infectious disease synthetic biology and immunology at Harvard Medical School. He also completed clinical pathology and laboratory medicine residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, serving as Chief Resident in Pathology from 2017 to 2018.

Mina has held academic appointments at Harvard University, Harvard Medical School, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and Dartmouth College. His clinical experience includes serving as Medical Director of Clinical Microbiology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Director of Molecular Virology at the Broad Clinical Lab. He led the Broad Institute’s infectious disease testing platform during the COVID-19 pandemic and directed the U.S. Government Home Test-to-Treat Program.

Mina has advised the White House, FDA, HHS, NIH, CDC, National Security Council, Congress, and international governments. He has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications.
