He earned his M.D. from Stanford University School of Medicine, where he conducted research in neurosurgery and interventional radiology. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Hatzakis also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stony Brook University and completed additional training in engineering and pre-medical studies at Columbia University.

Dr. Hatzakis is currently the owner of HatzakisMD and serves as a forensic medical expert with Apollo Consulting Services. He has held multiple leadership roles, including Board Member and Registry Chairman for the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (AAPM&R). He also served as Medical Director of Outpatient Musculoskeletal Services at Overlake Hospital and was the founder of two rehabilitation practices in Washington State.

With a background that spans medicine, engineering, clinical research, and biomedical informatics, Dr. Hatzakis offers a unique multidisciplinary perspective in forensic medical evaluations, particularly in cases involving orthopedic, neurological, and musculoskeletal conditions.
