Dr. Michael David Freeman, M.D., Ph.D., M.P.H., D.C., Med.D.R., M.Sc.F.M.S., F.R.C.Path., F.F.F.L.M., F.A.C.E., F.R.S.P.H., D.L.M., is an expert in public health, epidemiology, forensic medical science, psychiatry, and preventive medicine. He earned a Bachelor of Science in General Science from the University of Oregon in 1983 and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the University of Western States in the same year. He later obtained a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology/Biostatistics in 1995 and a Ph.D. in Public Health/Epidemiology in 1997 from Oregon State University.

Dr. Freeman also completed a Master of Science in Forensic Medical Science through the Academy of Forensic Medical Sciences in London, England and the University of Verona in Italy. In 2013, he earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Umeå University in Sweden, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at the same institution in 2015. In 2020, he received a Fulbright Fellowship through the United States Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and World Learning.

Dr. Freeman currently serves as Joint Clinical Professor in Psychiatry and Public Health & Preventive Medicine at the Oregon Health & Science University School of Medicine.
