He completed an internship in General Surgery at the University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, followed by a residency in Internal Medicine and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center.

Dr. Bornemann has held leadership and clinical roles across sleep medicine and healthcare program development. His experience includes serving as Medical Director at a residential chemical dependency facility, Director of the Sleep Health Development Program at Transformation House, and Medical Director of Program Development for Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine Services at Corner Home Medical. He is also the Lead Investigator at Sleep Forensics Associates, LLC and serves as a Staff Physician at Andros ENT & Sleep Medicine Center. In addition, Dr. Bornemann has academic experience as a Distinguished Visiting Professor for the Sleep Medicine Fellowship at the Minnesota Regional Sleep Disorders Center, Hennepin County Medical Center, and as an Instructor of Sleep Medicine for the Network of Asia-Pacific Sleep Specialists (NAPSS).
