Dr. Lerner is a licensed psychologist in New York, a certified school psychologist, and holds multiple board certifications, including as a Diplomate from the American College of Forensic Examiners.
Currently, Dr. Lerner is the President and CEO of Lerner Psychological Services, P.C., a position he has held since 1991. He also chairs The National Center for Emotional Wellness and leads Mark Lerner Associates, Inc., focusing on traumatic stress and emotional wellness. His expertise has been recognized on an international level, serving as an expert consultant for the United Nations Department of Safety and Security since 2006. His previous roles include serving as a Consulting Police and Fire Psychologist for the Nassau County Fire Commission and as a Consulting Police Psychologist for the Nassau County Police Department. He also founded and served as the President of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and was the Executive Director of Long Island Psychological Associates, P.C. during the same period. Dr. Lerner's contributions to the field include executive producing educational programs such as CRISISstreamⓇ and SESSIONS with DR. MARK LERNER.
