MariJo Letizia

Nurse MariJo Letizia, Ph.D., R.N., A.P.N./A.N.P.-B.C., F.A.A.N.P. is a registered nurse based in Chicago. She did his Bachelors in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago in the year 1979 and Masters in Nursing from Northern Illinois University in 1992. She earned her doctorate from Loyola University Chicago in 1996. She holds the position of Professor at Loyola University Chicago since 1992. She teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate nursing programs, in both face-to-face and online formats. As a practicing clinician with decades of experience in the care of adult patients, national certification in Medical-Surgical Nursing and as an Adult Nurse Practitioner, she teaches students about caring for adult patients and their families across disease trajectories and practice settings. Her research and scholarly interests include the education about, and provision of, palliative care to patients and families. She is affiliated with Heartland Care Partners since 2006 as an APRN. She is a member of Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses, Illinois Society of Advanced Practice Nurses and Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association. She serves as a reviewer of MedSurg Nursing and Journal of Hospice and Palliative Nursing. She has authored and co-authored many publications on Nursing and Palliative Care. She is also the Director Hybrid ABSN Program at Loyola University Chicago.
