Previously, he worked as a Senior Digital Forensics Examiner at Envista Forensics from 2021 to 2025, where he conducted examinations, case analysis, and provided expert testimony in criminal, civil, and internal investigations in local, state, and federal courts.

Before transitioning into forensic consulting, Mr. Lorencz spent 16 years with the Simi Valley Police Department, serving in roles including Detective, Senior Police Officer, Gang Enforcement Officer, and Police Officer. During his law enforcement career, he conducted investigations involving financial crimes, internet crimes against children, residential burglaries, auto theft, and other criminal matters. He also established the department's computer forensics laboratory and managed its computer and mobile device forensic examinations.

Mr. Lorencz earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with a Real Estate option from California State University, Northridge in 2002, and an Associate of Arts degree from Moorpark Junior College in 1999. He holds certifications from the National Computer Forensics Institute, Cellebrite, Magnet Forensics, the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS), and Teracom Training Institute. He has also presented and instructed on digital forensics, mobile device examinations, and trucking collision investigations for legal, insurance, and forensic audiences.
