Joseph Jankovic

Dr. Joseph Jankovic, M.D. is the neurology expert witness from Houston. He also has expertise in movement disorders and parkinson's disease. He has an active medical practitioner’s license from the state of Texasand and is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He earned his M.D. in 1973 from the University of Arizona College of Medicine. After that he completed his internship from the Baylor College of Medicine. He then completed his residency in 1977 from The Neurological Institute, Columbia University. In 1977 he joined the faculty of Baylor College of Medicine and became the founder and director of the Parkinson's Disease Center and Movement Disorders Clinic, which has since been recognized as a "Center of Excellence" by the National Parkinson Foundation, the Huntington Disease Society of America, and the Tourette Syndrome Association. Dr. Jankovic had been principal investigator in over hundred clinical trials and his pioneering research on drugs for parkinsonian disorders and hyperkinetic movement disorders, including botulinum toxin and tetrabenazine, has led to their approval by the Food and Drug Administration. His clinical interests include: movement disorders, Parkinson's disease and related neurodegenerative disorders. He has few publications to his credit.
