John A. F. Zupancic, M.D., M.S., Sc.D. also known as John Anthony Frederick Zupancic is a doctor specialising in the field of Pediatrics and Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. He resides at Boston, Massachusetts. Dr.Zupancic received his Bachelor of Science degree from Victoria College at the University of Toronto during 1984-1988, where he was awarded the G. A. Cox Gold Medal in Life Sciences upon graduation. He undertook his undergraduate medical training and pediatrics residency at McMaster University during 1988 -1991 and completed his fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine in the Joint Program in Neonatology at Harvard Medical School. Concurrent with his neonatology fellowship training during 1995 - 1999, he was awarded a Doctorate in Health Policy during 1996 -1997 with concentrations in Decision Science and Economics, from the Harvard School of Public Health. He is currently Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Director of the Harvard Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program. Dr.Zupancic is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and Associate Chief of Neonatology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. His research and consulting work seeks to improve the efficiency with which scarce resources are used in improving the health of children, and in particular, newborns. Dr.Zupancic is the Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and has served as leader of the Value Initiative for the Vermont Oxford Network’s Neonatal Intensive Care Quality Improvement Collaborative. His teaching and mentorship of fellows has been recognized locally through the Merton R. Bernfield Mentoring Award, awarded by the Harvard neonatology fellows, and nationally through the John M. Eisenberg Excellence in Mentorship Award, awarded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
