John Scott Roberts

John Scott Roberts, Ph.D. is an Engineer with extensive knowledge in Organic Chemistry. Dr. Roberts is a graduate of the University of North Dakota, with a doctorate in Organic Chemistry. He has wide experience in chemical and refining research, chemical, petrochemical and refining processes, power generation, fuel cells, fuels, natural gas, propane, and the odorization of fuel gases, as well as chemical contamination issues. He has experience with research and development, sales, new product development, process development and process scale-up. He is a recognized expert in the odorization of fuel gases. Dr. Roberts has been involved in the investigation of numerous fires and explosions in gas plants, refineries, chemical plants, power plants, industrial facilities, as well as residential and commercial settings. He has worked with product contamination issues in diverse areas such as gasoline, diesel fuel, natural gas, propane, propylene, LPG's and crude oils. He has experience with paints, coatings, polyurethane foam applications and many other polymer applications. He has completed his B. A. in Chemistry from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota. He also completed his B. A. in Mathematics from St. Olaf College, Northfield, Minnesota. He earned his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, North Dakota. At present, he is employed in Rimkus Consulting Group, Inc. since 2009. Before, he was employed in Materials & Chemicals Consulting from 2002 to 2009.
