John Charles Laughlin

John Charles Laughlin, M.Eng., P.E. is a licensed professional mechanical and biomedical engineer who spends most of his professional time reconstructing accidents involving automobiles, motorcycles, pedestrians, amusement park rides, walking surfaces, public transportation, and railroad/industrial equipment and performing biomechanical injury potential and causation analyses. He has spent 15 years working in the field of biomechanical engineering. He is an accomplished medical device engineer and forensic engineer and has testified in deposition and trial over 65 times. His practice of specialties includes Medical Device Engineering, Clinical Studies, Regulatory, Field Clinical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Neuro-electrical Engineering, Forensic Engineering, Accident Reconstruction and Human Factors. Mr. Laughlin has a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in bioengineering from Texas A&M University 1993 and 1995 respectively. He is a Registrar Professional Engineer Mechanical engineering, biomedical engineering, registered in Texas. He is a Senior Diplomate Member of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers. He is Principal Engineer at Laughlin Engineering Firm, Houston, Texas since October 2009. Before, He was a Senior Field Clinical Engineer at EnteroMedics, Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota from 2007 to 2009. He is also Consulting Engineer at Root Cause Consulting since 2015.
