Dr. John Paul Kress, M.D. is a pulmonary medicine and critical care expert witness from Illinois. He has a medical practitioner’s license from the state of Illinois and is certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Anethesiology. He has expertise in critical care medicine, pulmonary diseases, rehabilitation after critical illness and respiratory failure. He completed his B.S. in 1987 from the University of Notre Dame at Notre Dame, Indiana, Summa Cum Laude and then earned his M.D. in 1991 from the St. Louis University School of Medicine at St. Louis, Missouri. He then pursued his internship in Preliminary Internal Medicine from the St. Joseph Hospital and Health Care Center and further pursued his residency in Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine from the University of Chicago. He also completed his fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine from the University of Chicago. Currently, he is the Director of ICU Bed Triage and Pulmonary/Critical Care Procedure Service at the University of Chicago Hospital and also a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Anesthesia and Critical Care at the University of Chicago. Dr. Kress was also named the Senior Faculty Scholar in 2014 by the University of Chicago. He has also led multiple researches and has many publications to his credit.
