James T. Simonitsch is an experienced marine surveyor and boat builder with a long history in the maritime industry. He has been a self-employed Independent Marine Surveyor since 1976, offering expertise in the inspection and evaluation of various vessels. James also owned and operated the F/V "Bitsa" from 1975 to 1977, a 32' charter boat used for sport fishing, salvage diving, and harbor tours in Chatham, Massachusetts. He has a U.S.C.G. Captain's license for carrying six or fewer passengers and has operated several sport-fishing boats. Additionally, James co-owned and fished aboard the F/V "SILVER MINK," a 72' sea scalloper. Prior to his surveying career, James was a self-employed boat builder from 1969 to 1976, constructing wooden boats up to 22' in length and performing repairs on both wood and fiberglass boats. His extensive hands-on experience in boat building, fishing, and marine surveying makes him a knowledgeable expert in his field.
