Dr. James Hendricks Lewis, M.D. is a gastroenterology expert witness from the District of Columbia. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1973 from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and then earned his M.D. in 1975 from the SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine. He further completed his residency at NYC Health Hospitals/Kings County and his fellowship at George Washington University Medical Center. He has a physician's license from the state of District Of Columbia and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Currently, Dr. Lewis is the Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine and the Director of Hepatology in the Division of Gastroenterology. Additionally, he is the Associate Director of the Gastroenterology Fellowship Training Program of the combined MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, MedStar Washington Hospital Center and the DC Veteran's Affairs Medical Center.
