He served as an Assistant Professor from 1977 to 1982, Associate Professor from 1982 to 1985, and Professor from 1985 to 1990. Dr. Fox was the Director of the Graduate School of Criminal Justice and later the Dean of the College of Criminal Justice. He held the position of The Lipman Family Professor of Criminal Justice (1999-2010) and The Lipman Family Professor of Criminology, Law, and Public Policy (2007-2024). Earlier in his career, Dr. Fox taught at several institutions, including the University of Pennsylvania and Eastern Michigan University. His extensive experience in criminology, criminal justice, and public policy, along with his longstanding academic leadership, has solidified Dr. Fox as a respected authority in his field.
