Dr. James Anthony DeRespino, M.D., F.A.C.E.P. is an emergency medicine expert witness from Florida. He has an active medical practitioner’s license from the state of Florida and is certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1975 from the Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania and then earned his Doctor of Medicine with Honors in 1979 from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, District of Columbia. He then pursued his internship in General Surgery in 1980 from the Cleveland Clinic Foundation Hospitals, Cleveland, Ohio and a residency in Emergency Medicine in 1982 from the Akron City Hospital, Akron, Ohio. He further pursued his fellowship in Shock-Trauma Resuscitation in 1981 from the Shock-Trauma Unit, University of Maryland at Baltimore, Maryland. Currently, Dr. DeRespino is a staff physician of the emergency care centre at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was also a staff physician of the emergency care centre at Manatee Memorial Hospital for the years 1982 to 2003. He has one publication to his credit. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians since 1983.
