James Alton Burks

Dr. James Alton Burks, Jr., M.D., M.B.A., F.A.C.S., R.V.T. is a vascular surgery expert witness from California. He has an active medical practitioner’s license from the state of California and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He completed his B.S. in Computer Engineering in 1991 from the Carnegie Mellon University and then earned his M.D. in 1995 from the New York University School of Medicine. He also completed his M.B.A in 2013 from the University of Miami. He further pursued his internship in Surgery in 1996 and a residency in General Surgery in 1999 from the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Centre, New York. He also completed his chief resident in General Surgery in 2000 from the Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Centre, New York and Fellow in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in 2002 from Mount Sinai Medical Centre, New York. Currently, Dr. Burks is a vascular surgeon at Providence St. Joseph Medical Centre-Burbank, Northridge Hospital Medical Centre, Providence Holy Cross Medical Centre, Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital and Valley Presbyterian Hospital. He has eleven publications to his credit. He has been South Florida 's Top Doctors for the year of 2013. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2005. He is a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, South Florida Society of Vascular Surgery, Florida Vascular Society, American College of Phlebology, American Medical Association and Florida Medical Association.
