Dr. Jack A. Stanford, Ph.D., is a distinguished expert in limnology and fisheries science. He earned his B.S. in Fisheries Science and M.S. in Limnology from Colorado State University, and his Ph.D. in Limnology from the University of Utah.

Dr. Stanford served as the Director of the Flathead Lake Biological Station at the University of Montana from 1980 to 2016 and is now Professor Emeritus. Before his tenure at the University of Montana, Dr. Stanford was an Assistant and Associate Professor at North Texas State University, where he taught ecology, biometrics, and limnology, and developed the Analytical Water Quality Laboratory. Earlier in his career, he worked as a Fisheries Biologist for the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and was the Curator of the Ichthyology Collection at Colorado State University. His research focuses on river and lake ecosystems, biogeochemistry, and the ecology of aquatic insects.
