I. Michael Leitman

Dr. I. Michael Leitman, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a general surgery expert witness from New York. He also has expertise in surgical critical care. He has medical licenses from the states of Florida and New York.  He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He completed his B.A., Summa cum Laude with Distinction in Chemistry in 1991 from the Boston University, College of Liberal Arts and then earned his M.D., Cum Laude in 1995 from the Boston University School of Medicine at Boston, Massachusetts. He then pursued his internship in Surgery and residency in Surgery from the New York & Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Campus. He also served as the Chief Resident during his tenure of residency. He further pursued his fellowship in Surgical Critical Care from the North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset, New York. Currently, Dr. Leitman is a Surgeon at the Mount Sinai Hospital, Professor of Surgery and Dean for Graduate Medical Education at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Site Chair of the Department of Surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. Dr. Leitman also maintains a private practice at New York City, New York. Additionally, Dr. Leitman is the Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery at Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University at New York City, New York. He also has many publications to his credit. Dr. Leitman is the Fellow of the America College of Surgeons, member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons.
