He initially served on the faculty at Scripps Clinic and Scripps Research Foundation in San Diego and subsequently joined the faculty at UCSD in 1997. Dr. Tung currently serves as the neurosurgery section chief at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. He is a California State Qualified Medical Examiner and Expert Reviewer Medical Board of California. He is affiliated with University of California San Diego, Medical Center, University of California San Diego, Thornton Hospital, Scripps Memorial Hospital, La Jolla, California, Rady Children's Hospital of San Diego and Tri-City Medical Center. He has Memberships in different Professional Societies including American Association of Neurological Surgeons, American Medical Association, California Medical Association, Congress of Neurological Surgeons, San Diego County Medical Society, San Diego Academy of Neurological Surgeons, San Diego Gamma Knife Center, Committee Member, Western Neurological Society, California Association of Neurological Surgeons and North American Spine Society. In the past Dr. Tung has serves as Secretary-Treasurer for the San Diego Academy of Neurological Surgeons as well as Local Arrangements Chairman for the Congress of Neurological Surgeons annual meeting. He is licensed to practice medicine in California, Arizona and Nevada.
