He further pursued his internship in 1973 and residency in 1974 from Harbor General Hospital, Torrance, California and also fellowship in Infectious Diseases in 1977 from the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, Los Angeles, California. Currently, Dr. Pitchon is an infectious disease specialist at Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and Southern California Hospital at Culver City. He has numerous publications to his credit. He is an assistant professor of medicine at UCLA School of Medicine for the years of 1977 to 1980. He is also a member of the American College of Physicians, American Society of Microbiology and American Federation for Clinical Research.
