He completed his High School in 1968 from the St. Joseph's College, Hong Kong and then earned his B.A. in 1972 from the La Salle College, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He then pursued his M.D. in 1976 from the Georgetown University School of Medicine, Washington, District of Columbia and internship in 1977 from the Children's Memorial Hospital, Chicago. He further pursued his residency in Pediatric in 1978 and also in Neurology in 1980 from the Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, District of Columbia. He also completed his fellowship in Pediatric Neurology in 1981 from the Georgetown University Hospital, Washington, District of Columbia and Nuclear Medicine in 1992 from the UCLA Medical Centre. Currently, Dr. Chugani is a pediatric neurologist at NYU Langone Hospitals. He is also a chief division of pediatric neurology at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan. He has many publications to his credit. He is also a member of the American Academy of Neurology, American Epilepsy Society, Society for Neuroscience and Child Neurology Society.
